Partick Thistle Football Club

 Club Photographer: James Wilson

I've been a supporter of the mighty Jags for a fair wee while now (I've still got my old season ticket book from season 1980-81), and have seen numerous ups and downs (they won't allow me to print the analogy I had for that comment), but one of my proudest moments came when we were presented with the 1st Division Championship trophy in 2001, having secured back-to-back Championships.

The photo I picked for this biog. is me on the pitch with both 1st & 2nd Division cups, as we spent one week as champions of both titles at the same time - a feat which was confirmed as being the first time ever that a team had held two separate professional football Championships simultaneously anywhere in the World.

I used to play for my old work football team in the 70's and 80's, and had the honour of playing a full 90 minutes in goals at the National Stadium at Hampden, despite fracturing the bones in my wrist during the pre-match warm up (a great excuse to explain the 6 goals I let in).

After a friend of mine and the club taught me the intricacies of website football photography, I continued his fine work in an unofficial capacity, and once had the "pleasure" of being threatened with arrest, should I even attempt to take a single photo, at a ground that shall remain nameless, in Kirkcaldy.

I've got a brick up on the wall of the Jackie Husband Stand that reads "James Wilson, 1962 - ?". 1962 is my year of birth, so when I meet my maker (or reincarnate as a slug), I'd appreciate it if someone could put my final year of existence in. I may not be here, but the Jags will live on forever.

When I was asked if I fancied doing some camera work in an official capacity by the club over informal coffee with some "high heidyins", my first question was "How much does it pay?".

My second question was "How do I get spluttered coffee stains off the front of my shirt?". Seriously though, to be able to help out in any way is genuinely a labour of love.
