Match Preview
Last weekend it was the Scottish Cup, this weekend we return to league business with a trip to Greenock to face Morton.
A run of successive victories that took us back to third in the league was halted when we faced Ross County in our last league outing and the aim tomorrow is to kick start another good run with a win and continue to exert pressure on the division's top two.
Our chances of doing just that are aided by the return of a number of players who missed out against Stirling Albion last Saturday. As always manager Ian McCall was able to provide www.ptfc.co.uk with the bang up to date team news.
"We were struggling in terms of numbers last Saturday especially at the back but I'm pleased to say that that particular situation has eased considerably and I'm in the happy position of having virtually a full squad to select from ahead of Saturday's game. Of those that missed the game with Stirling Albion I am able to welcome back Marc Twaddle, Willie Kinniburgh, Simon Storey, Stephen McKeown and Steven Lennon. Alan Archibald, who performed really well against Stirling, will once more be part of the squad. It's great to have those players available to us once again but on the down side there are doubts surrounding the fitness of both John Robertson and Damon Gray."
Morton meantime will be hoping that former Thistle player James Grady, presently on loan at Cappielow; will shake off a back injury to play with a final decision on the striker's fitness not expected until the last minute. One player definitely out for Morton is Peter Weatherson missing out following his red card at Peterhead last weekend.
