Match Preview
This evening the series of pre-season matches comes to an end with a visit of English Championship Burnley. Burnley are managed by Owen Coyle who isn't exactly a stranger to Firhill.
Tonight’s fixture is the second of Burnley's three game trip to Scotland. They drew their first match with Queen of the South 1-1 and have a fixture with St Johnstone still to come.
Speaking to www.ptfc.co.uk earlier today manager Ian McCall was able to bring us up to date with all the latest team news.
“Those that didn’t play against Carlisle United will get a game against Burnley tonight which means a place in the side for Ryan McStay, Willie Kinniburgh, Kevin McKinlay and Stephen McKeown. We will also be including two trialists who arrived at the Club today. One plays wide right and was with Wrexham last season and the other is a striker who has been playing in France.”
Ian also took a little time to reflect back on Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Carlisle United.
“It’s yawningly obvious what we are short of but Saturday was our second clean sheet in a row and we look solid both at the back and in midfield although we did feel that Gary Harkins was perhaps just trying a little too hard at times on Saturday.”
