Match Preview
While the competition is the Co-Operative Cup tomorrow’s clash is between the teams currently occupying the top two places in the First Division and this encounter could provide some indication of the relative strength of the two teams. Naturally though of more immediate concern is progressing to the next round of the Co-Operative Insurance Cup. Thistle will go into this evening’s fixture high on confidence following Saturday’s 4-0 drubbing of St Johnstone and earlier this morning Ian McCall was able to provide www.ptfc.co.uk with the latest team news.
“ We’re obviously still without Alan Archibald and Liam Buchanan and of course we have added David Rowson to the injured list recently. To be missing those three players is a blow. There is a doubt at present surrounding Stephen McKeown and he will undergo a late fitness test before we make a final decision on him. Elsewhere I will look to try and freshen the team up a little. There’s a number of players who have played a lot of football recently and they could perhaps benefit from a little rest. That’s not to say that we aren’t taking tonight’s tie seriously. Quite the reverse, we want to do well in this competition and we are really looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Dundee meantime look set to continue without the injured Jim Lauchlan, Colin Cameron, Darren Young and Craig McKeown.
