Partick Thistle Football Club

 Liam Buchanan

Tuesday 28th April 2009

Following a hard fought victory over Livingston that saw the teams separated only by a 90th minute winner from Substitute and goal scoring machine Liam Buchanan.

Liam spoke to www.ptfc.co.uk today:

"It’s great to be fit again and back in the team. It’s hard to watch from the sidelines especially when the boys are trying their best and things aren’t going our way it’s hard to know I can’t make a difference. It’s been a hard few months lots of comeback work but I’m starting to feel better and just working on my strengthening work."

"Saturday was great to comeback especially for it to be at Firhill the fans were tremendous when I came on. I really felt we were battling for every ball and we got the penalty at the end. I had no doubts about taking the penalty and happily it went in the net.  We will take the confidence into our game against Airdrie on Saturday, all we can do is concentrate on our game and hope results go for us on the day. First and foremost we must stay focused on our game against Airdrie which will be a very difficult game they have good players and we know they will come at us from the kick off.

"I would like to take the chance to say a massive thank you to all the fans who have supported us home and away it really does help us when you’re behind us. It’s been a fantastic season for the club on the park and off it"

We asked Liam about the Irn Bru Award and how important he feels £7,000 for the Youth Set up could be to Thistle" It's massive, I mean the fact the fans can vote and win the club £7,000 is great. I have texted as have all the lads. I'm not surprised to see we are first as i know our fans will be texting like mad to help us win it"
