Partick Thistle Football Club

 Monday Round Up

Monday 8th December 2008

At present there is no re-scheduled date for our fixture with Morton following Saturday's postponement. With assistance from the SFL it is hoped to confirm a new date for the fixture shortly.

Yesterday afternoon the Thistle under 19 side defeated Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 in a fixture at Dalgety Bay. After a goalless first 45 minutes Thistle took the lead when Scott Tully headed home a cross from Ryan MacBeth. The points were wrapped up when a Trialist was able to convert an assist from an impressive Philip Middlemiss. In a good all round display from the young Jags Michael Robertson, an unsed sub for the first team against Stirling Albion, produced an excellent display.

The Thistle Reserves were due to face Stranraer in a Reserve League Cup tie on Tuesday evening. With Stranraer having first team commitments elsewhere this midweek they are now unable to fulfil the fixture. We were keen to play a reserve fixture this week but despite the best attempts to find alternative opponents we will unfortunately be without a reserve fixture this week.
