The latest player to fall under the microscope of Scotland Manager George Burley, Ipswich Town full back David Wright, will have no problem proving his Scottish heritage, indeed his uncle was a Scottish Premier League player at the same time as Burley was playing at Portman Road for Ipswich.
Wright’s grandparents and his mother are Scottish with his uncle Andy Anderson a mainstay of the Partick Thistle defence throughout the 1970’s where he made nearly 200 appearances for the Jags.
Burley has been tipped off about Wright by contacts he still has in Suffolk, and the player who started off at Crewe before playing in the Premiership with Wigan believed to be keen to turn out for Scotland.
