Victory for Under 17s

On a cold afternoon the Thistle under 17s yesterday produced a heart warming performance in defeating Clyde 6-1 at the Broadwood Astroturf.
Thistle lead 3-0 at the break thanks to a excellent hat-trick from Kieran Burns. After beating a Clyde defender he chipped the Clyde keeper for his first goal while his second was tap in following some neat play from Stuart Bannigan.
Kieran’s hat-trick arrived when he collected a short corner from Jamie Campbell before finding the net with a shot from the corner of the box.
Clyde were able to reduce the deficit early in the second but it was soon business as normal. Andy Dunbar, Marc Green and Garry Sweeney all contributing second half goals as Thistle ran out emphatic winners.
Next Sunday (December 7th) the under 17s face Dunfermline Athletic at Beith Juniors with a 2pm kick-off.
The under 19s had a free week this weekend but they are back in action themselves next Sunday when they also play Dunfermline Athletic. That fixture takes place as Dalgety Bay Sports Centre and kicks-off at 1:30pm.
