Thistle climbed back into second place in the league and back into a promotion frame with a narrow 1-0 win against Morton.
The game's winning goal arrived 4 minutes after half-time when Kris Doolan lashed the ball high into the net from 12 yards out.
With St Johnstone drawing 3-3 at Queen of the South Thistle move to within 5 points of the league leaders as things start to hot up at the top of the league.
