Partick Thistle Football Club

 Clyde 2, Partick Thistle 4

Saturday 3rd January 2009

Thistle made the best possible of starts to 2009 with a 4-2 victory in a thrilling game with Clyde.

Thistle fell behind in the 20th minute when Pat Clarke took advantage of poor Thistle to find an empty net with a shot from 30 yards.

Thistle were level though in the 29th minute when Simon Donnelly headed home a  Marc Twaddle cross.

The Jags nudged themselves ahead in the 32nd minute when Gary Harkins converted a penalty following a foul on Liam Buchanan.

The first half's scoring wasn't over though and 4 minutes from half-time Paul Paton put Thistle 3-1 ahead.

When Pat Clarke netted the game's second penalty after 63 minutes the game was back in the melting pot once more but Liam Buchanan's 86th minute strike secured maximum points for Thistle.
