Partick Thistle Football Club

 One In One Out

Friday 9th January 2009

Earlier today Thistle secured the services of 22 year old striker Kris Doolan from Ayrshire Junior outfit Auchinleck Talbot.

Kris, as Thistle fans will no doubt have read, had enjoyed a couple of successful stints on trial here at Firhill and was courting attention from elsewhere including a reported interest from SPL Motherwell.

Said manager Ian McCall;

"We feel that we have a chance this season of competing for a place in next season's SPL and ideally I would like to sign about 3 or 4 players, players with SPL experience. I think it is important to stress though that even if I were able to do that I would still have signed Kris Doolan. Kris is a player that I believe has a right good chance. He is very quick, is hungry to succeed and has a real eye of a goal. In many ways he is very reminiscent of Liam Buchanan when he first arrived at the Club."

Considered one of the brightest talents in the Junior ranks Kris has signed a deal that will keep him at Firhill until May 14th 2010.

As one player arrives at Firhill so to does one leave. www.ptfc.co.uk confirmed news earlier in the week that Chris Turner was free to speak to other clubs. Chris has now in fact been released from his contract here at Firhill and leaves the Club with our best wishes.
