 Youth Results

Monday 3rd November 2008

Mixture of results yesterday.

The Under-17s had the earlier kick off at Beith Juniors, when they entertained Airdrie United. The young Jags went one up on the half hour mark with Kyle Lochhead headed home a corner. Kieran Burns then extended the lead, after a great run down the wing by Jamie Campbell, riding over three tackles before cutting the ball across for Kieran to knock home. Half-time 2-0.

Within moments of the second half re-starting, Kieran Burns tried his luck from distance, and with the Airdrie keeper out his goal, the boys were able to increase their lead. Airdrie came back with two goals, but the 17s held on for the 3 points.

Meanwhile, the 19s took on Alloa Athletic, at McKenna Park, and were on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat, our solitary goal coming from Scott Tully (pictured).

This weekend (9th) is SFA Youth Cup weekend, and the 19s will travel to Central Park to face Cowdenbeath, 1.00pm kick-off. The 17s, meanwhile, have a free weekend.
