Back to School for Ian Maxwell and Simon Storey
Thursday 30th October 2008
As part of our community work, first team players Ian Maxwell and Simon Storey visited Broomhill Primary School today.
They were there to help out with “National Book Week” by reading stories to the children.
Despite being told by the Deputy Head Teacher that he only needed to read two chapters, the picture shows Simon reading the whole of Roald Dahl's "The Magic Finger" from cover to cover to an enthralled Primary 3 class.
Also given out to schools to help with Book Week was a specially taken photo with many first team players reading club books.
The aim behind the photo was to set a good example and show children that everybody reads books, from them to footballers.
Partick Thistle FC would like to thank Broomhill and the children for a warm welcome.
