Partick Thistle and Show Racism The Red Card

Tuesday 28th October 2008

The Show Racism the Red Card Fortnight of Action kicked off on October 16th. Before Saturday’s fixture with St Johnstone the players of both Thistle and St Johnstone held up red cards as all of Scotland’s Clubs united to show their condemnation of racism.

In addition to Saturday’s display of solidarity across the country the Fortnight of Action has seen a series of events take place and Thistle have been at the forefront of these events.

Last Friday 50 children visited Firhill stadium for a special tour and to meet assistant Manager Gerry Britton. At the same time over at John Paul Academy Paul Paton and Pedram Ardalany showed their support for the Fortnight of Action at a special event organised by the local government. Paul and Pedram are pictured here with some of the Academy kids, along with the SRTRC t-shirt.

Partick Thistle Football Club fully endorse the aims and objectives of Show Racism the Red Card. There is no place for racism in football or society and we would urge any supporter who encounters racism at Firhill to contact a steward or the police.
