 BRING ON THE RANGERS

Monday 22nd September 2008

A number of Years ago I was invited to Hospitality to see Rangers vs. Parma in a European Qualifier, at the time Thistle had just avoided the drop to Division Three via a late penalty against Forfar.

The game was early August, Sun shining, pitch perfect, big crowd, exciting opposition everything that’s good about playing in Europe. I took my seat 15 mins before the start to take in the atmosphere ,and the PA Announcer made a special request from Dick Advocaat that there be plenty of noise and lots of singing to lift the team.

As I watched my host a big Rangers Fan said how brilliant the feeling was and surely watching Thistle bottom of Division Two couldn’t compare to this, in reply I said absolutely- however there was one key difference between Thistle and Rangers …

If we were in Europe they wouldn’t need to ask us to sing.

That’s why whilst few in numbers our supporters are special and we are proud of them.

Tomorrow we take on Glasgow Rangers, UEFA Finalists- it will be watched all over the Country, let our Banners Fly and our Songs be sung, lets show them there’s only one team in Glasgow and no matter the result, that the Thistle and the Shed are back.

Bring on the Rangers..
