Livingston 3, Partick Thistle 1
Saturday 27th September 2008

It was disappointment for Thistle as, a side showing 5 changes from the team that lost in such heartbreaking circumstances aginst Rangers lost 3-1 at Livingston.
A good start was essential but Thistle fell behind after just five minutes. A Callum Elliot shot was heading nowhere in particular until it struck Murray Davidson and from there the ball looped over Jonny Tuffey and into the net.
The second Livi goal arrived in the 18th minute. Paul Paton conceeded possession on the Thistle right and when the ball was squared across goal Elliot slammed the ball home from close range.
Hopes were raised in the 28th minute when Ian Maxwell stabbed the ball home from close range following a Steven Lennon corner.
Thistle huffed and puffed in the second half but there was no way through a well organised home defence and Livi sealed the points 9 minutes from time when Elliot bundled home his second goal of the afternoon following a Rocco Quinn cutback.
