It was a truly miserable afternoon for Thistle as they slumped to defeat to bottom club Airdrie United.
Thistle had been the better of two largely ineffectual sides but should have been in front in the 60th minute only for Liam Buchanan to miss a penalty after he himself had been fouled.
In the 70th minute Paul Lovering scored from the spot for Airdrie and three minutes later Scott McLaughlin doubled their advantage.
Late on debut boy Kieran Burns was denied a goal when his effort was cleared off the line by Simon Storey.
