43 mins: A nice move helps set up David Rowson at the edge of the Airdrie box but he gets his shot all wrong and it trickles wide of goal.

39 mins: Ryan McCann comes forward and tests Tuffey with a long range shot that the Thistle keeper gets his body behind to make an easy save.

37 mins: Liam Buchanan slips the ball through to Chris Erskine but he can't get his cross past the first defender.

36 mins: Another Airdrie corner. Waddell to take it and plays it short but Airdrie can make nothing of the situation.

33 mins: Airdrie have a corner following a Corcoran miscue.

31 mins: Storey collects a yellow card following a tug on Stephen McKeown's jersey.

29 mins: Thistle are nearly caught on the break. Gemmill breaks with the ball and squares to O'Carroll who falls over.

28 mins: Thistle corner on the left hand side. Corcoran trots over to take it. Storey heads clear.

24 mins: Paul Paton's cross is headed behind for a Thistle corner. Corcoran's corner though comes to nothing.

PRE-MATCH NEWS: The forecast heavy rain has held off so far and while the Exceslior Stadium isn't exactly bathed in  sunshine the sun is peeping out from behind the clouds. Peeping out from behind the clouds of recent disappointments is what we hope Thistle will do this afternoon. As we aim to record a 5th win of the season against Airdrie manager Ian McCall has brought Paddy Boyle, back from his exile at Clyde, back into the team. There are also starts for Chris Erskine and Mark Corcoran while 18 year old Kieran Burns takes up a position on the bench for the very first time.
