Partick Thistle Football Club

 Raith Rovers - After Match Reaction

Monday 19th April 2010

Tonight's match with Raith Rovers couldn't by any stretch of the imagination have been considered a good game of football. On an almost unfeasibly cold night for the middle of April a small crowd sat and shivered as Thistle and Rovers played out a 0-0 draw. A draw that at least ended a run of defeats but did little else.

In a game of few chances there was little for anyone to comment on but as usual www.ptfc.co.uk caught up with the Thistle manager after the game.

Said Ian McCall;

"First of all I would like to thank those Thistle fans at tonight's game. It was a cold night and this game was never likely to be a good game of football and so it proved. That was a truly awful game of football."

"It was good to finish the game with three of our under 19 side on the pitch. Ross McGeough played the full 90 minutes and I think that he did well. I do think that Ross' best chance of making it in the game is probably at right back but he stuck to his task and the job given him well this evening."

"Ryan MacBeth got the best part of 30 minutes and it was Ryan that had our best chance of scoring this evening. Truth be told Ryan would have featured in the first team before now but he picked up an injury a few weeks ago and has only just got back to full fitness. It was also good to give Kieran Burns a further opportunity in the closing quarter of the game but it was difficult for any player to make much of an impact this evening. The conditions didn't really allow us to play the type of passing game that we prefer to play."
