Youth Round Up
Monday 19th April 2010
It was another disappointing weekend for the first team but our under 19 side were able to bring a little cheer yesterday afternoon with victory in their most recent SFL Youth Cup fixture.
After opening the SFL Youth Cup campaign with a narrow 2-1 victory over Dumbarton they enjoyed a more comfortable 3-0 success against Morton, who had defeated Thistle in the league earlier in the season, and maintaining their 100% record into the bargain.
Scott Tully was on target twice, one a penalty, with Shaun Fraser also on target.
Victory, or even a draw, in Thistle's final sectional match against Queen of the South will be enough to see Thistle top the section and qualify for the last four of the competition.
It will be interesting to see whether any of the under 19 squad follow in the footsteps of Kieran Burns and make their first team debut before the end of the season.
Check www.ptfc.co.uk for details of forthcoming fixtures.
The under 16s meantime drew their fixture yesterday with Ross County 0-0.
Our under 14 side had a free weekend.
