Thistle had to make do with a point in the opening league game of the season Thistle and Ayr drawing an entertaining game 1-1.
Mark Roberts, who else, gave Ayr a 5th minute lead. Jonny Tuffey came a long way from goal to clear the ball but could only fine Roberts, 40 yards from goal and on the touchline, and Roberts should great presence of mind to find the back of the net.
Thistle were level in the 20th minute. Corcoran set up Simon Donnelly who found the net from 6 yards out.
Both teams had chances after the break but neither could find a winning goal. Mark Roberts hit the post for Ayr while Stephen McKeown missed a great late chance for Thistle.
