Partick Thistle Football Club

 Partick Thistle 1, Liverpool 1

Tuesday 11th August 2009

Honours were even between Thistle and Liverpool at the end of Alan Archibald’s Testimonial match.

Thistle may even feel a little aggrieved not to have won the match. They had the better of the first half but Rowson and Erskine both saw shots saved by Bouzanis in the Liverpool goal.

With just 3 minutes onto half-time Liverpool took the lead when Eccleston headed home a Pacheco free kick.

It took Thistle until the 72nd minute to score a deserved equaliser. Kris Doolan set up Chris Erskine who buried a low shot into the corner of the net.

The night though was all about Alan Archibald who received a tremendous ovation at the end of the game after returning to the fray for the closing few minutes of the match.
