Thistle  could have scarcely have made a worse start to this game falling behind to a John Baird goal after just 80 seconds. By half-time though they had fought back to lead 2-1. Simon Donnelly equalised with a free kick after 26 minutes before Stephen McKeown scored his first goal of the season on the stroke of half-time.

Steve Lovell scored the first of two goals just a minute after the restart but the game was back in the balance when John Baird scored after 51 minutes.

Lovell though restored Thistle's two goal cushion in the 55^th minute before Paul Cairney rounded off the scoring in the 66^th minute.
