Partick Thistle Football Club

 Som PTFC - Adios Amigo

Tuesday 29th December 2009

"Gerry Britton is the King of Spain" is the cry of the Firhill faithful - and we're asking Jags fans to help the club bid 'Adios Amigo' to our departing assistant manager next Monday night.

To mark the occasion and Gerry's sterling service to the club, Partick Thistle is hosting a Spanish theme night before, during and after our clash with Morton at Firhill.

Among the features of the night will be:

  • Spanish menu in corporate hospitality - available at £30 + VAT per head.
  • All stadium announcements read in Spanish.
  • Spanish music over the PA system.

We're asking all Thistle fans to prove their up to la tasca, sorry, the task by making Firhill a sea of Spanish costume and colour by bringing Spanish flags, wearing sombreros and chanting ole.

Members of the Thistle team have rallied like Rafa Nadal to promote the game.

Pablo Patonez led the tributes: "Ole! Gerry is a Real Thistle legend."

Team mate Hoji added: "Ole! Here Vigo, here Vigo, here Vigo."

Juan Roberto took things too far by stating: "Ole! Gerry puts the mad into Madrid, the lad into Valladoid and the bar into Barcelona."

So Getafe your couches and make a beeline for Las Hill de Mary next Monday - kick-off is 7.45pm but el party starts well before then:
