Under-19s in action
Sunday 13th December 2009
Only the 19s were in action today (13th) as they travelled through to a foggy Recreation Park to face Alloa, unfortunately losing 4-3.
Alloa opened the scoring before Stuart Bannigan equalised, after Kieran Burns passed to Ryan MacBeth, who flighted a good ball over. Alloa then took the lead again, before Ryan MacBeth's free kick was parried and Kieran was on hand to knock the rebound in, leaving the scores tied at the break. That leaves Kierans' goal ratio at three games, back from injury, three goals!
The second half, as the fog was getting heavier, saw both teams have a go, but it was to be Alloa that hit the young Jags for another two before Ross McGeough scored our consolation, after what looked like a goalmouth scramble.
Next up for the 19s before the break is a home tie against Queen of the South at Petershill Park next Sunday (20th) with a 4pm kick-off.
The 16s were due to host Alloa today at Petershill but an early inspection found the visibility very poor. Both the 14s and 16s are now finished for the Christmas and New Year break.
