Davie Irons
Saturday 27th February 2010
As many Thistle fans will have read in today's press the Club have parted company with Assistant Manager Davie Irons.
As much as possible the focus today was on the game with Ross County but with the dust settled on a 2-1 win against Ross County manager Ian McCall had a few words to see about Davie's departure.
"I would like to thank Davie for his efforts during his time at Firhill. It was a financial rather than a football decision and he leaves the Club with the best wishes of us all. I know Davie is gutted right now and I can understand why, he has great feeling for Partick Thistle as a Club, He is a fantastic coach although his reputation has been sullied of late. I think that those responsible for that need to take a long hard look at themselves."
