Thistle were able to take advantage of Dundee's slip against Airdrie United with a hard fought win against a well organised Morton side.
It was Morton that had the best chance in the first half but Paartalu's corner from a near post corner struck the post.
At the other end a Liam Buchanan header that flew straight at Stewart.
The winning goal arrived in the 74th minute. Paul Cairney gathered the ball inside 
the box before drilling a low shot into the corner of the net (pictured).
