Goals in either half, one from John Robertson and one from Kris Doolan, were enough to secure a win for Thistle in the latest pre-season match.
Both sides had chances in an even first half. Jonny Tuffey twice being tested by the home side while Liam Buchanan was thwarted by a fine stop by the home keeper.
It was Robertson's goal though following a Paton free kick that separated the sides at the break.
Thistle had the better of the second half and had a number of chances to extend their lead. Chris Erskine clipped the bar, Kris Doolan shot narrowly wide after an excellent through ball from Paul Cairney and Liam Buchanan sent a header wide of target.
Kris Doolan did finally double the lead with 4 minutes remaining. After an Ian Maxwell shot was blocked Doolan was left with a fairly routine chance to score.
