Partick Thistle Football Club

Back to school for two players

Tuesday 16th June 2009

In keeping with our community work Partick Thistle first team players Paul Cairney and Ricky Little, Club Historian Robert Reid and Press Officer Ami Small all visited Scotstoun Primary School yesterday afternoon to take part in the schools health week.

After a brief introduction and history of the Jags from Robert Reid both Paul and Ricky spoke about the week in the life of a footballer and their diet. Afterwards it was opened to the floor for questions from the many excited children present.

After a 30min Q and A the children took to the playground to be watched and helped in teams by the players, Ami and the schools very own die hard Thistle fan Mr Boyd.

Paul Cairney spoke to www.ptfc.co.uk this morning “Scotstoun is a nice school and made us feel very welcome yesterday. We hopefully gave the children an insight into what it’s like to be a footballer and hopefully a few might even come along to watch our games”

Ricky Little added “It’s great to be in this position to help young kids who maybe want to be footballers when they are older. It was also fantastic to see a few of the kids in Thistle jerseys”
