Govan Hill Festival
Friday 26th June 2009
Last Saturday the Jags Trust and Partick Thistle took part in the Govanhill Festival in the south side of the city. Partick Thistle’s Head of Youth Development John Henry and Trust Board Representative and club Community Director Kieron Dempsey provided the local kids with football training and information about the Kids Go Free scheme and other initiatives we are conducting in the area.
The area has a large community of immigrants and the purpose of the festival was to celebrate diversity and create opportunities for interaction amongst the different ethnic groups.
Community director Kieron Dempsey said “It was a great day with a lot of kids being exposed to Partick Thistle and kids go free along with John Henry taking a coaching session. I feel it was an important festival for us to be involved in”
