Greg Shields Returns to the States

After signing a short term contract with Thistle in January, covering the NASL off season, Greg Shields has today left Firhill to rejoin Carolina Railhwaks.
Said manager Ian McCall;
"Greg had an unfortunate time with regard to injury while he was at Firhill. I brought him to the Club with the view to playing him in the middle of a back three and when he did play in that role he did well only to then pick up an injury that has since prevented him from playing."
"After allowing Willie Kinniburgh to leave on loan we've had the misfortune of seeing Greg, Martyn Corrigan and Jackie McNamara all pick up injuries which has been frustrating though also part and parcel of football."
"Meantime Greg leaves Firhill with our best wishes and we wish him well when he returns to America."
