Jags Players Help Launch Business Partner's New Venture.

Thursday 18th March 2010

One of the Maryhill areas best known businesses, The Q Club, today formally opened their second snooker establishment in the South side of the city, and they were proud to show their affinity towards Partick Thistle at the opening in Victoria Road.

The Q Club is a business partner and Jags Ambassador of Partick Thistle, so when they announced their press opening, the Jags were sufficiently represented by Chris Erskine and Simon Donnelly.

Of course with it being a snooker club, they also unveiled some masters of the green baize who will be based at their new facility. Joining Simon and Chris were none other than reigning World Champion John Higgins and the current World ranked number 2, Stephen Maguire (pictured below).

The Q Club is co-owned by Lake Sharma and nephews Sanjay and Vikas (pictured below with Chris and Simon), and has been in business in their Georges Road premises in Maryhill for 30 years.

The link with Partick Thistle is a deep one, with the nephews having been involved with the club since they were kids. Chris Erskine told www.ptfc.co.uk today, "I'm a big fan of snooker and already enjoy the odd frame at the original Q Club to relax between games, but I'll definitely be visiting the new club to get some tips from John and Stephen"

The Q club is also home to fellow Scottish professionals Alan McManus and Marcus Campbell, and is in the distinguished position of having three club players (John, Stephen and Marcus) competing at next month's World Snooker Championships.

All at Partick Thistle wish the Sharma family the best of success in their new venture, and look forward to our continuing happy business relationship with them. Not forgetting of course to wish John, Stephen and Marcus the best of luck in the Championships.
