Despite a spirited second half display Thistle went down to a 1-0 defeat against the new league leaders Inverness at Firhill this afternoon.

The first half belonged to the men for Inverness and they would surely have led by more than Rooney's 32^nd minute goal had it not been for Jonny Tuffey.

Tuffey produced a number of fine saves in the second half but Thistle pressed more after the break. Clear cut chances though were at a premium although Thistle may feel that they should have had a penalty in the 82^nd minute when a Buchanan  shot may well have been blocked by the hand of an Inverness defender.
