Yesterday's Youth Results
Monday 22nd March 2010
Yesterday afternoon the Thistle under 19 side's run of consecutive victories came to a halt at three. They did, however, manage to extend their unbeaten run to a fourth game with a 2-2 draw with Dunfermline Athletic.
It took, however, a last minute penalty converted by Kieran Burns, his sixteenth goal of a productive season for the player at this level, to do so. Kieran, who turns 18 on Wednesday, was part of the Thistle squad on Saturday and while he didn't feature in the final 16 he is clearly a player worth keeping an eye on.
Scorer of Thistle's other goal yesterday was Stuart Bannigan who is in his first season as a full-time player at Firhill.
Our under 16 and under 14 sides were also both in action in yesterday and both face their counterparts from Cowdenbeath. The under 16s went down by three goals to two but there was better news for the under 14s who won their fixture 4-1.
