Thistle Fan Strikes Gold Again.

Not so long ago we mentioned that Jags fan David Smith won Gold for Scotland in the football event at the recent Special Olympics. Well we're pleased to announce that he's done it again thismonth when the Scotland guys came out tops at the Tournoi Europeén in Geneva. In an 18 team tournament including countries such as Italy, France and hosts Switzerland, the Scots overcame Germany in the final with a 2-1 victory. David came into Firhill yesterday to show his gold medal (pictured below), and was obviously delighted with what he described as a great team effort in securing a notable victory in such a high profile event.
His dad John said, "We're all chuffed to bits with David. If Ian McCall has a spare £50million going, he can have David as a player". David has now amassed an impressive tally of 10 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in his still young career. All at Partick Thistle are rightly proud of his achievement, and offer him our hearty congratulations.
