 Youth results - 29/11/2009

Monday 30th November 2009

The Under-19s travelled to Links Park on Sunday 29th to face Montrose and came away with a very well deserved and well fought 3-0 victory.

Jamie Campbell opened the scoring with a shot from just outside the box, before Kieran Burns made it two with ten minutes to the break.

The second half saw more Thistle pressure, but just couldn't put the ball into the back of the net, then with 5 minutes to go Ross McGeough burst into the box, and volleyed it past the Montrose keeper.  The goal was brilliant but the celebrations left a lot to be desired!

Team:  Shepherd, McGeough, Baxter, McDermott, Stevenson, Campbell (Trialist), Bannigan, MacBeth, Fraser (Tully), Lochhead, Burns (Sweeney).  Subs not used:  Scully GK, Pearce, Hodge

Meanwhile, the 16s beat Ayr United 4-2 at Petershill, with a hat-trick from Malky McLean and a solitary goal from Chris McInnes.

The Under-14s, unfortunately, went down 5-2 to Ayr at Maybole, the Jags goals coming from Mark Johnston and Kieran Bell.

This coming Sunday (6th) the 19s take on Dundee at Beith Juniors with a 2pm kick-off.  The 14s host Queen of the South at Petershill Park with a 4pm kick-off while the 16s travel to Dumfries, details still to be arranged.
