With Queen of the South losing at home Morton, Thistle climbed to the top of the league courtesy of a 2-0 win against Airdrie United.

The first half had been fairly uneventful up to the 42^nd minute. The game erupted in controversy at that point when Scott McLaughlin's late challenge on Bryan Hodge was deemed worthy of a red card.

With a man advantage Thistle were in total control after the break. In the 52^nd minute Bryan Hodge opened the scoring (pictured) after a fine move and the lead was doubled in the 67^th minute when Simon Donnelly converted a Mark Corcoran cut back.
