Thistle got back to winning ways with a deserved 2-0 win against Ayr United.
All the scoring came in the first half. Thistle struck early when Mark Corcoran took advantage of a slip in the Ayr defence to fire high into the Ayr net.
Goal number two arrived after 37 minutes when Liam Buchanan netted his 9th of the season.
Thistle were the better side in the second half but could never truly relax against a spirited Ayr team. Simon Donnelly and Chris Erskine both saw shots well saved by Samson while Paul Cairney became the second Thistle player, after Liam Buchanan in the first have, to be denied a penalty after appearing to be fouled in the box.
