 Reserve Report 27-10-09

Thursday 29th October 2009

Following on from the brief report on the Reserves 3-0 defeat at the hands of East Stirlingshire:-

In the first-half young Graeme Shepherd in goal made two very good saves, at the other end Ryan MacBeth was to be unlucky as his free-kick was saved by the goalkeeper.  A shot from Willie Kinniburgh outside the area again found the East Stirling keeper in good form.  A great pass from Kris Doolan found Ryan MacBeth but he curled it just wide.  Kinniburgh then had another chance but this time his header was saved.  Thistle were piling on the pressure and a corner found Stephen McKeown's head only to be handled well by the keeper.

Half-time 0-0, Kieran Burns for Jim Hamilton, Stuart Bannigan for Chris Erskine and Scott Tully for Stephen McKeown

In 49 mins the Jags went one down, when East Stirling scored from a corner.  Three mins later it was to be 2-0.  Thistle tried to play offside but the East Stirling player kept onside to slot past Shepherd. The 'Shire then went on to score one more, leaving the Jags deflated.

Young Ryan MacBeth, who was by far man of the match, again nearly scored a great shot from inside the area (pictured), however it was parried by the goalkeeper.  His free-kick then brought a great header from Kinniburgh with again their keeper saving the day.

Full-time 3-0
