Be Part of Firhill's 100th Birthday Celebrations

Next Saturday is a very special day in the history of Partick Thistle Football Club.
Almost exactly 100 years to the day, September 18th 1909 to be precise, Firhill opened its doors for the very first time. That afternoon Thistle defeated Dumbarton Harp by three goals to one and a repeat of that score line when Dunfermline Athletic visit Firhill 100 years on would be very nice indeed.
There are a whole host of events planned to celebrate the 100th birthday of Firhill stadium.
Running from 11am to 2pm there will be a number of events, aimed primarily at families, taking place in the car park outside the Jackie Husband Stand.
Activities will include:
- Face Painting
- Coconut Shy
- Beat the Goalie
- Other Kids Stalls with prizes to be won
- Photographs with PeeTee the Club Mascot
- Meet Cat Harvey from Real radio
- Radio Lollipop Road Show
- Juggler/clown
- Caricaturist
- Photographs with Thistle players
- Meet former players from 1971 era
- BBQ
- Candy Floss
- Musical entertainment by Sheboom
- Marquee for soft drinks, teas and coffees
- Centenary Fund stall
- Street Rugby from Glasgow Warriors
- A primary schools mini soccer tournament involving 4 local schools
The tea and coffee stall will be run by Macmillan Cancer Support and all proceeds from that will go to their charity.
A fire tender from the local Maryhill fire station will also be in attendance and children will be welcome to view all the equipment and get their picture taken with the fire fighters
The team will also be wearing for the very first time our special Centenary strip.
A special programme will also be on sale. This will include a 16 page supplement, with reference to contemporary sources and including fans' memories, celebrating 100 years at Firhill.
With the whole day set to be a memorable one there is also no better occasion to sample Thistle's renowned Corporate Hospitality package.
Prices are only £85 per person plus VAT and the day includes a champagne reception, formal welcome from Club Director, optional tour of stadium and "board room banter" with our very own Robert Reid, Four course lunch served in the Alan Rough Lounge overlooking the pitch including wine, Programme, team sheet and news first hand from Gerry Britton, a seat in our Executive Box, half time tea and snacks then Full Time Man of Match presentation.
