No Appeal over Liam Buchanan's Red Card
Tuesday 15th September 2009
Thistle have decided against launching an appeal against the red card Liam Buchanan received against Raith Rovers.
Said Club Chair Allan Cowan;
"The video tends to support our player but it is not conclusive enough to warrant an appeal. Thus while we feel the decision to red card Liam was incorrect, we are not in a position to mount an appeal with any reasonable chance of success and we must accept the decision of the match referee."
Liam will, therefore, sit out Saturday's fixture with Dunfermline Athletic. He will, however, be available for our fixture with Inverness Caledonian Thistle the following week.
With Liam not having collected any other cautions in league matches this season he is, despite collecting 12 penalty points for his red card on Saturday, still a little away from crossing the penalty points threshold and incurring a further one match suspension.
