Scott Chaplain

2006-07's SPFA Third Division Player of the Year Scott Chaplain became Ian McCall's 4th signing when he joined Thistle from Albion Rovers.
Scott, aged 25, scored 22 times for Rovers in his last season at Cliftonhill prior to his move to Firhill, including one against Thistle in the Challenge Cup, despite the fact that Rovers only finished mid table in the Third Division.
Scott, who played as a trialist for Thistle against Brechin City in a pre-season game in the summer of 2005, started his career with Rangers before moving to Ayr United.
He played over 100 times for Ayr before joining Albion Rovers prior to the start of the 2005-06 season.
In his first season in Rovers' colours he scored 8 times before hitting his impressive haul of goals last season.
Scott has proved to be a more than useful player since arriving at Firhill. Rarely out of the 16 stripped for action Scott has chipped in with his fair share of goals from midfield.
